NDI Send allows you to transmit video and audio from Mavis Camera to other NDI-enabled software or hardware on the same network. This makes it possible to integrate Mavis Camera into live production systems, streaming setups, or collaborative workflows without additional cables.
Activating NDI Send
To activate NDI, first tap the cloud/network button. Then tap NDI Send to roll down the menu. Finally tap on/off
NDI Send can be activated simultaneously alongside recording, streaming or Camera to Cloud services. NDI Send and NDI Receive cannot be used together. If NDI Receive is in use, NDI Send will be unavailable.
Important: Activating multiple network based services may impact the overall performance of NDI. Please ensure you have sufficient network bandwidth and test any complex set up before production use.
NDI Send Encoding
NDI Send uses the output of the main encoder. This means that whatever is being sent to the recorder/streamer is also being sent via NDI Send. The following format/encoder settings are therefore shared between the recorder/streamer and NDI Send:
- Resolution
- Frame rate
- Codec* (H264, HEVC, HEVC 10-bit)
- Quality / Bitrate
- Colour space (Rec. 709 (SDR), Rec. 2100 HLG (HDR), Apple Log)
*ProRes encoding is not supported with NDI Send
Mavis Camera conforms to the NDI specification by also simultaneous providing a low bandwidth encoded stream. This can be selected by your NDI receiver on networks with poor performance or reduced bandwidth. The frame rate and quality of this stream is automatically adjusted based on hardware performance and is not controllable by an end user.
