Mavis Camera includes an Input Selector that lets you choose the video and audio source used for recording, streaming and monitoring.
Inputs and outputs are not hard-linked, which means you can use any available input with features such as Streaming, Camera to Cloud, and Monitor Tools. The input can be switched at any time when not recording or streaming.
Available Inputs
- Internal Camera - Uses the built-in iPhone camera and internal/external microphones.
- NDI - Receives live video and audio over the network via NDI.
- Atomos Ninja Phone - A hardware HDMI capture device for connecting mirrorless, DSLR and other video sources
- Accsoon SeeMo Series - A range of hardware SDI or HDMI capture devices for connecting mirrorless, DSLR and other video sources
- Color Bars - A test pattern for calibration and signal verification.
- Mavis Logo - A static fallback image used in some system states.
Input Types and Control
Internal Camera
The Internal Camera provides full manual and automatic controls, including:
- Focus
- Exposure
- Frame rate
- Resolution
- White balance
- Zoom
Audio can be captured from the built-in iPhone microphones or from an external USB audio device, with support for up to 8 channels of audio.
NDI (NDI Receive)
The NDI input receives a live video and audio stream from the network.
- Frame rate, resolution, and color space are defined by the incoming NDI feed.
- Supports up to 8 channels of NDI audio.
- Timecode over NDI is supported when present in the source stream.

Atomos Ninja Phone
The Atomos Ninja Phone allows Mavis Camera to use an external HDMI source as an input via Atomos’ mobile capture hardware.
- Enables professional cameras and video devices to be used as live inputs.
- Video format, frame rate, and resolution are defined by the connected source.
- Supports embedded audio from the incoming signal and connected USB audio input (2 channels HDMI, 2 channels USB audio)
- Supports dual recording with one video source being encoded by the iPhone and a second video source being encoded by the Ninja Phone.
- Record trigger from the externally connected camera
- Ideal for integrating cinema cameras into mobile streaming, recording, or Camera to Cloud workflows.
Accsoon SeeMo Series
The Accsoon Seemo Series of hardware inputs allows Mavis Camera to use an external SDI or HDMI source as an input via Accsoon's mobile capture hardware.
- Enables professional SDI or HDMI cameras and video devices to be used as live inputs.
- Video format, frame rate, and resolution are defined by the connected source.
- Supports embedded 2 channel audio from the incoming signal
- Can supports SD card as external storage for Mavis Camera recordings
- Includes 5V Output for powering lights etc..
- Ideal for integrating cinema cameras into mobile streaming, recording, or Camera to Cloud workflows.
