Mavis Camera has been designed to work for both portrait and landscape video recording/streaming with all controls and components optimised for both orientations.
The main user interface will always reflect the orientation that will be used for recording or streaming e.g. if the user interface is showing a landscape layout, the recorded video will be landscape.
You can change or lock the orientation in the main app settings.
Important: The iOS built in "Portrait Lock" (aka Rotation Lock) will prevent Mavis Camera's internal Auto or Landscape orientation from working. Switch this off before using Mavis Camera (see this Apple support article for more info (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/118226).
Changing and locking orientation
The orientation modes can be found in the main app Settings
- Tap the More button
- Tap Settings
- Scroll and tap Orientation
- Select between Auto, Portrait and Landscape
The "Auto" orientation will automatically rotate the app in-line with the physical device orientation. The orientation will be locked once a recording or streaming is started to whatever orientation the device was in at the start of recording or stream.
In some cases the orientation will be provided by the selected Input. For example, if you select an input that is only capable of landscape recording, the app will force the orientation to landscape while the input is selected.
