What is Frame.io?
Frame.io lets you manage your media and assets on a single secure platform to create and deliver high-quality content faster. With Frame.io you can upload, review and share media with your entire team, anywhere in the world.
With Mavis Camera and Frame.io's Camera to Cloud you can automatically upload files directly to Frame.io from the app, even while you are still capturing. This allows for faster turnarounds and real-time collaboration from anywhere using the power and connectivity of iPhone. The Frame.io integration is native so files go directly to Frame.io and not via Mavis Cloud Hub
For more information about Adobe Frame.io check out the Frame.io website.

Progressive (Real-time) vs End of File (Basic) Upload
File can be uploaded to Frame.io in one of two ways:
Progressive (Real-time) gets to work as soon as you hit record, uploading chunks of data while your clip is still being captured. This is particularly good for longer clips as the app can use the time you are recording to upload data.
When you hit stop any remaining data is uploaded and you'll be able to view the clip on Frame.io. While Mavis Camera is transferring data as you're still shooting, the clip won't be playable on Frame.io until you stop recording and it completely finishes uploading.
End of File (Basic) starts uploading after you stop recording. This means the entire clip has been captured and Mavis Camera has access to all the data required for uploading.
By default Mavis Camera will use Progressive (Real-time) uploading. This can be changed in the 'Edit' menu accessed via the Cloud button (available when paired to Frame.io).
Upload indicator and info
When using Frame.io the Cloud button border will turn purple and button will display:
- An icon indicating the current state of uploading
- A dynamic border indicating Progressive (Real-time) uploading or the amount of data uploaded/remaining for the current clip
- A badge indicating the remaining files left to upload
The icon indicating the current state of uploading will display one of the following
All files are uploaded:
File currently uploading:
Cloud service unreachable:
When using Progressive (Real-time) uploading a semi complete circle will spin continually indicating that data is being uploaded but also still being generated by the recorder. Once a recording is stopped the dynamic border will animate to complete a circle based on the amount of data uploaded/remaining. When using End of File (Basic) uploading the circle will only animate to complete a circle as the recording is finished and the size already known.
You may sometimes see the border animate backwards. This is most likely caused by a network error causing a chunk of uploading data to fail. In this case Mavis Camera will retry until all data is successfully uploaded.
Tapping on the Cloud button while a clip is being uploaded will reveal more detailed information including the amount of data uploaded / remaining and the percentage of the clip that has been uploaded.
Manual uploading (including batch uploading)
When Frame.io is active the Files view includes additional options for uploading clips to Frame.io. Swiping right on a individual clip that hasn't been uploaded reveals a cloud upload button (in addition to the usual sharing button) . Tapping on this button will add the single clip to the Frame.io upload queue.
It is also possible to upload multiple files in bulk by first selecting them and then tapping on the cloud upload button available from the bottom bar. When attempting to upload multiple files a pop up will ask for confirmation before they are added to the Frame.io upload queue.
Upload State Reset
When a clip has already been uploaded to Frame.io it cannot be uploaded again unless it's upload state is first reset. This may be useful if you delete a clip from Frame.io and want to upload it again.
To reset the upload state of a clip, first make sure Frame.io is active then swipe right on a file that has already been uploaded. This will reveal a cloud upload state reset button . Tap this button to reset the upload state of the clip.
Unpairing (and changing account or project)
To unpair your device from a Frame.io account tap on the Cloud button, then Edit. Scroll down and tap Unpair from the menu. To change the account or project you must first unpair Mavis Camera from Frame.io and then pair it to a new account or project.
