Outputs are how video leaves Mavis Studio.
Some outputs are designed to deliver the live Show directly, such as streaming and recording. Other outputs, such as NDI and HDMI, can send a selected source from Mavis Studio to another local device.
In Mavis Studio, the Streamer and Recorder are both fed from Program. This means they follow the live switched output of the Show.
NDI and HDMI work differently. These outputs can be assigned to any source from the video matrix, not just Program.
This makes the output system flexible. A Show can be streamed and recorded from Program, while an NDI or HDMI output is used for a monitor feed, a clean feed, a media source, or another selected source.
Thinking about outputs in this way can be helpful. Program is the main live result of the Show, while outputs are the different ways that result, or another selected source, can be sent out of Mavis Studio.
