The video matrix is the full list of sources available inside Mavis Studio.
Any source shown in the video matrix can be assigned to a source tile in the multiview, used inside a Layout, or routed to NDI or HDMI output.
This makes the video matrix the central source list for the whole app.
The video matrix includes live sources such as camera inputs, internal sources such as Media Players and Image Players, generated sources such as colours and test signals, and workflow sources such as Program, Preview, and Program Clean.
When the source selector is opened from a multiview tile, the list that appears is the video matrix.
The same source list is also used in other parts of Mavis Studio. For example, when assigning a source to a Layout layer or choosing what NDI or HDMI output should send, the selection comes from the video matrix.
Thinking of the video matrix as the master list of available video sources makes the system much easier to understand. If a source exists in Mavis Studio, it is usually available somewhere through the video matrix.
