Audio Groups make it easier to manage several audio channels together.
An Audio Group is a collection of channels that can be controlled from a single button or slider on the Home screen. This is useful when multiple inputs should be turned on, turned off, or faded together.
Mavis Studio includes six Audio Groups.
If coming from an audio background, an Audio Group can be thought of as similar to a DCA group. The purpose is the same: several channels can be grouped together so they can be controlled quickly without adjusting each individual fader.
By default, camera channels are split across the first few groups, but this can be changed. A common setup is to place some camera channels into groups so they can be controlled together.
To assign a channel to an Audio Group, first select that channel on the audio desk. Then tap the required group button. A channel can belong to more than one group if needed.
The audio desk shows a small visual indicator above each channel so it is easy to see which groups that channel belongs to.
On the Home screen, Audio Groups can be used in two ways. They can work as simple on and off buttons, or they can be switched to gain controls so the level of the whole group can be adjusted.
This gives Mavis Studio a practical workflow. The full desk is used to build the mix, and the Home screen is used to make quick changes while producing.
