The full audio mixer is opened by tapping Audio in the left-hand sidebar.
Mavis Studio provides 16 audio channels plus a Master fader. On larger iPads, all channels can be shown at once. On smaller iPads, the mixer uses banks so channels can be viewed in sections.
By default, the mixer is arranged like this:
- Channels 1 and 2: Camera 1 left and right
- Channels 3 and 4: Camera 2 left and right
- Channels 5 and 6: Camera 3 left and right
- Channels 7 and 8: Camera 4 left and right
- Channels 9 to 12: Not yet in use (but will be available for external USB audio inputs)
- Channels 13 and 14: Media Player A left and right
- Channels 15 and 16: Media Player B left and right
- The final fader is the Master output.
The USB input channels are intended for external audio devices connected through USB. Support in this area is expanding, so these channels should be thought of as reserved for external input workflows.
Each channel strip includes a fader and an On button. The fader sets the level for that channel, while the On button determines whether that channel is active in the mix.
Double-tapping a fader returns it to 0 dB, which is useful when resetting levels quickly.
The compact audio controls on the Home screen are a simplified view of the same system. The Master control on the Home screen and the Master fader on the full desk are two ways of adjusting the same output.
The full desk can also be expanded from the Home screen using the arrow at the bottom of the left hand toolbar. This larger view is mainly intended for setup and adjustment before a Show begins.
