Setting White Balance
The white balance in Pro Camera Classic can be set in three ways:
- Manual
- From scene (using grey or white card)
- Auto
Setting Manual White Balance
1) Tap on the colour flyout menu icon
2) Tap on Edit from the colour flyout menu
3) Select a Set from the top toolbar to store a colour value
4) Select to use either the colour temperature slider or common values picker from the top toolbar
5) Use the colour temperature slider or common values picker and the tint slider to set the white balance
Setting White Balance From Scene
1) Tap on the colour flyout menu icon
2) Tap on Edit from the colour flyout menu
3) Select a Set from the top toolbar to store a colour value
4) Tap the white balance from scene button at the top right of the screen. To accurately set the white balance with this control first aim the camera at a grey or white card, filling the entire frame with either grey or white.
Using the white balance from scene tool locks the white balance into a set. It will not change unless manually adjusted.
Setting Auto White Balance
Using auto white balance means Pro Camera Classic will adjust the kelvin value automatically to accommodate for the current lighting conditions. Although an easy option, auto white balance can create problems later on as it constantly changes the kelvin value resulting in a colour drift throughout a shot. This can make post production difficult - particularly colour correction.
1) Tap on the colour flyout menu icon
2) Select Edit from the colour flyout menu
Colour display
The colour display at the left of the screen shows the current kelvin value and colour preset/mode. The kelvin value is the unit of measure for colour temperature. Generally, colour temperatures over 5,500K are considered cool colours (blueish-white), while lower colour temperatures, 2,700–3,200K, are considered warm colours (yellowish-white).
